Ganton village is situated on the south side of the Vale of Pickering, immediately north of the Yorkshire Wolds. Ganton lies 7 miles west of the coastal town of Filey and 9 miles south-west of Scarborough. The Greyhound Hotel is located on the A64, which is the main route from the city of York to the popular coastal areas of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey. Also located en route from York is the market town of Malton, famous for its culinary delights and artisan producers.
The Ganton Greyhound Hotel is a 17th Century inn, that has been extended over the years to include an additional outbuilding with letting accommodation. The property is of stone construction, under a pitched tile roof.
Main bar area
The original part of this old inn, with exposed wooden beams, ornate wood panelling, fireplaces and wooden bar servery. With seating for 24, this trade area has been divided into two sections: A table area for more formal dining; and a snug with three sofas surrounding a real fire.
