This family home is situated facing the stunning North Town Moor with beautiful views of the National Trust nature reserve and pond.

Surrounded by outstanding local schools, 10 minute walk to Maidenhead Town Centre, and train station (Crossrail due to begin 2022). Close to amenities and beautiful public footpaths through to Cookham from outside the house.

This 4 bed detached home was built in the 1950's and has potential to extend into a beautiful family home, or alternatively you have the opportunity to develop the land.

The main property comprises three double bedrooms and a smaller fourth bedroom with a family bathroom and a separate shower room both with WC. The large landing overlooks the beautiful nature reserve and fields and offers potential to extend into the roof.

Downstairs consists of two reception rooms, one being larger than the average, following on through to the kitchen area with adjoining conservatory and downstairs WC.

The property is in need of modernisation and has great potential.

This unique home has parking for up to five cars at the front and has two separate garages one on either side of the property.

The house has a generous garden with two outbuildings, one measures an area of 13m x 4.5m widening to 7m approx, the first one has power and heating throughout, three double glazed windows and two sets of double glazed patio doors leading out onto the garden. This outbuilding could be used for a business such as childminding or hairdressing, the opportunity here is endless if you have a business that can be run from your home.

Entertainment area is 10m x 5.5m

The other outbuilding measures 3.12 M x 7.8M approx

A variety of businesse have been successfully run from this house thus far:

Tropical fish business

registered/licenced childminding
licenced fire engine limousine
bed and breakfast

The second much larger outbuilding also has power and heating throughout, and the added bonus of a WC and plumbing for a shower, offering the facility to live there rather than rent, if work to the main house were in progress. This outbuilding has the advantage of a large external covered entertainment area with a frost protected external sink and plumbing, power for fridge and dishwasher, and food preparation area.

The land/car park to the side of the property is approx. 176 sqm and can possibly be developed along with the house. Lapsed planning for 3 garages. The land could be used as a paddock for horses with the potential to build a few stables.

Freehold of the 4 adjacent maisonettes is included in the sale subject to notice.

Early viewing recommended

north town moor nature reserve:
The Green Way winds it's way from Cookham through to North Town Moor. The Moor offers a haven for bumble bees, dragon flies, butterflies and damselflies in the verges that are managed for conservation. The orchard with it's variety of fruit trees attracts many bird species, and the managed duck pond next to the free car park is a great place to feed the ducks.

The northern part of North Town Moor is regularly cut for amenity purposes, providing a great space for a run or to walk a dog.

Free parking is available at North Town Moor car park.
North Town Moor is one mile south of Wildbrook Common and two miles south of Cookham Moor.
The nearest railway station is Furze Platt which is 0.5 miles west of North Town Moor.

Originally there were stables and an equestrian leather shop to the rear of the property. Horses entered via the large side gate and grazed, tethered on the moor opposite. In the 80's the stables were replaced by a large council licenced tropical fish and Koi shop, with public access, and sold dry goods and fish. A fish enthusiasts' club of approximately 20 people would meet once a week, parking in the free car park opposite the property.

The property offered bed and breakfast and later a child minding service, licenced by the council and Ofsted registered. The property is very private and secure with high gates, the original 8' high brick wall to the orchard, three independent CCTV security systems and three independent alarm systems.

The property has a history of enterprise and is registered with the council as mixed commercial and residential. Council permission was acquired to park commercial emergency vehicles (Ambulances in most cases) on the premises both at the side of the house and on the land/car park to the side of the premises. The vehicles were large ambulances and a fire engine, providing a 24 hour service.

The property provides the modern entrepreneur with free parking, security, privacy, garden studio and the outbuildings offering numerous possibilities i.e. Shop, hairdressers, dog grooming and cattery etc.

The house and land/car park to the side could be developed together or separately. The property enjoys a south west facing rear garden that affords sunshine all day, with free parking access to the beautiful National Trust moor with it's large duck pond.

There are equestrian facilities in close proximity, or a short drive. This property, positioned opposite the picturesque country moor with a licenced tennis club sports bar at one end, ticks many boxes and offers a great opportunity to provide a very flexible home and business combination in a fabulous one-off location.

Maidenhead town centre is currently undergoing a fabulous multi million pound rejuvenation programme.
