Elmswell and the surrounding area
Elmswell is a thriving village with excellent road and rail links which has made it a wonderful place to live with our family. As they have grown they have been able to travel to school college and university with ease.
The village has a railway station on the line between Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich. With bury st Edmund's under 12 miles away via rail and links to the London Liverpool mainline. There is a cooperative grocery store, post office, parcel drop off point, local chip shop, Pub serving excellent Thai food and other convenient places to eat.
There is a wildlife area at Kiln Meadow, one pub The Fox, with a second pub, The Tavern, now under community ownership and planned for reopening to serve the local community.
Elmswell was named Suffolk's village of the year in 2008 beating Cockfield and Fressingfield into second and third place respectively and retains a warm community feel. Crabtree Meadow is very focussed on the local community and is generally considered a wonderful Cul de Sac to live within, hosting annual events by the neighbours, for the neighbours to foster the true spirit of community.
