16 & 18 South Drive were built in the 1950's, originally as two two bedroom apartments. Bought by the present owners some 50 years ago, both apartments have been substantially extended and refurbished creating ideal homes for much loved coastal family holidays.

The ground floor can be accessed from an impressive front door through into a quarry tiled lobby.

The apartment has a spacious south facing sitting room and adjacent garden room with bi-folding doors opening onto two outdoor sitting areas and the front garden. The double aspect kitchen/dining room is large and light filled. It has an extensive range of matching units together with an integrated dishwasher, two oven gas fired Aga and fan assisted oven/grill. A back door opens from the kitchen directly into the rear courtyard with shrubs and ample parking space. There are four bedrooms including a principal bedroom with shower room en-suite whilst the remaining bedrooms are served by a family bathroom and additional shower room.

Number 18 is arranged over both first and second floors approached by way of a ground floor entrance with internal staircase and an external staircase with decked porch from the courtyard. A spacious open plan sitting room and kitchen/dining room combined create a relaxed informal living area with plenty of natural light and south facing doors opening onto the adjacent balcony with glazed screens and views to the sea. There are two bedrooms on the first floor with family bathroom. Principal and guest suites occupy the second floor, each with well appointed shower rooms and the principal bedroom has doors onto a south facing balcony with further coastal views.

Number 18 has its own store/laundry room at ground level, accessed from the courtyard and this provides plumbing for a washing machine and space for additional fridge/freezer or tumble dryer.

The entrance drive runs along the western boundary leading to a generous paviour set courtyard behind the building providing ample parking. The garden to the south has well stocked shrubberies and lawn with a central pathway and decorative pebble dressings. Bi-folding doors open from the garden room onto a paved sitting area with exterior lighting. A further terrace lies to one side of the front door, and has an electrically controlled sun awning. A further terrace lies to one side of the front door. The courtyard parking area has external lighting and is planted with a colourful display of roses, lavender, hydrangeas and evergreen shrubs. A grapevine clad screen opens onto a sheltered paved courtyard garden with external lighting and power points making an ideal area for outside entertaining. Two beach hut style garden sheds provide useful secure storage.

South Drive has direct pedestrian access to Ferring beach. This delightful pebble and sand beach is less well known than some of the more high profile locations on the south coast such as Worthing and Brighton and as a consequence is rather more secluded with pretty beach huts, trees and greensward. The well known Bluebird cafe, just off West Drive, is also nearby. Ferring itself is a popular seaside village with two small shopping parades, both served by bus routes giving access to the surrounding area including Worthing town centre. A small parade of shops is located within walking distance and in the village centre there is a doctors' surgery, dentist, Spanish tapas restaurant, vets, library, delicatessen and well stocked Co-op store. There are excellent roads links and a mainline railway station providing services to Hove, Brighton, London and Gatwick.
