Five Bedroom Detached Home For Sale

Located within great ashby which offers a selection of local shops and businesses, whilst more comprehensive amenities can be found in Hitchin, Stevenage and old town. There is also excellent access to London via the A1 junction 7 or 8 and the station which provides access to Kings Cross, Farringdon and London Bridge in only 20 minutes.

“The Sellers view - "The house is positioned in the most prominent and sought after location in Great Ashby. Found within a cul de sac overlooking protected ancient woodland, with private access to Brooches Wood. For dog walks and exercise it's ideal, just a 10 minute country walk to Great Ashby District Park - the perfect spot for a picnic, family meet up or a swing with the kids in the playground. Our Community Centre and shops are just down the road too, hosting a convenience store, vets, pharmacy, barbers and takeaway restaurants. Round Diamond is one of three outstanding primary schools in the area, hence why it’s such a sought after location with families. Busy Bee's nursery is just across the road too. The bus stop at the bottom of the road runs straight into the Town Centre with its many shops and department stores, and to Old Town with its mix of boutique shops, bars and eateries. Less than a 10 minute drive away is historic Hitchin to the west, and Stevenage Leisure Park to the South offering a multiplex cinema, David Lloyd Gym, mini golf, Battle Bar and various restaurants, as well as the train station access from which Thameslink and lner trains connect to London in 16 minutes.

What really drew us to the property was the woodland views. It’s lovely opening up the shutters in the morning and watching the birds in the trees from bed, seeing the squirrels on the fence from the living room or from our reading nook on the 2nd floor, and occasionally looking out for passing deer that come to graze in the evenings. Seeing the colours change in autumn, bluebells create a sea of purple in spring and all the wild flowers growing back every summer.

Lakeside walks of Fairlands Valley offer another pleasant change of scenery which we enjoy on summer evenings, and Hitchin Lavender fields have provided some wonderful family days out we will miss a lot too.

We’ve poured our hearts into this house, investing in it extensively, through redecoration, with a fully landscaped garden, a new boiler, new oak Aquanto flooring with thermal underlay downstairs, new electric garage door, ev charger, Nest heating, remote controlled electric Velux windows and burglar alarm fitted (not that it's required, it's very safe round here.) We leave through necessity not choice, so it’s turnkey ready.”

Ricky's view - "Families of up to six/seven could comfortably live in this home, especially considering all five bedrooms certainly fit double beds. The three bathrooms with three walk in showers provides ease for busy mornings getting ready. If you love heigh ceilings, these can be found throughout the house, the principle bedroom with its nearly-20ft high vaulted ceiling creates an enormous sense of space. If the above isn't enough, a more-than-double length garage adds so much potential, an incredible pantry and storage space, as well as a gym for the current homeowners, it’s a blank canvas that could easily add 3 extra rooms to the property, a giant kitchen and utility extension or even an annex for additional rental income or family members. Planning consent is granted and multiple architectural plans /options have been drawn up. I can imagine it's an excellent place to host a party. The kitchen leads gracefully on to the dining space, which the sellers have informed me have catered for 10+ at Christmas, a stunning feature fireplace found in the living room, is an area the current homeowners have sat in front to play games and watch the festive movies. Being 23' long I would say it's large enough to be split into two, this could provide a playroom or dedicated quieter office space if required. The downstairs loo is another benefit when having people over. On the top floor there's generous eaves storage providing plenty of space for seasonal goods and suitcases. Useful off street parking for at least three cars is provided. Most importantly, the kids shouldn't be complaining about the wifi here as there is Gigafast broadband coverage across Open Reach, Sky and Virgin Media is installed.

Stevenage is currently undergoing a £1billion Regeneration Plan. The initial plan will include the development covering 14.5 acres of the town centre and introducing 11 new buildings including residential, leisure, community, commercial and retail facilities.
