Glossy white kitchen cabinetry houses integrated appliances topped with silvery grey Corian worktops.

    The primary bedroom sits adjacent to the living room. It makes use of playful pops of pink and terracotta and has a generous bank of built-in birch ply wardrobes along one wall. A door from here opens directly to the garden, adding a seamless sense of flow between indoors and out. The second bedroom also has bespoke birch ply storage and is currently used as a bright study.

    In the middle of the plan is a shower room, where colourful terrazzo tiles run underfoot and walls are finished with a textured limewash. A large basin by Lusso Stone and a tap by Vola sit beneath a hand-painted glass splashback and full-height mirror. The walk-in shower is especially generous with a large overhead rose and associated hand-held fixture.

    Outside Space

    The courtyard garden is paved with grey brick and is accessed from the main bedroom and dining space. Honeysuckle and ivy runs up a trellis and there are deep flower beds filled with mature grasses. Thoughtfully designed bike storage hooks have been placed beneath a roof to protect them from the weather. There is plenty of room for outdoor dining too, made particularly convenient by its position next to the kitchen.

    The Area

    The apartment is well situated for the best of Bermondsey, the excellent cultural amenities of Bankside and the South Bank, and the newly revitalised Elephant and Castle locale.

    The surrounding area has become known as a hub for food markets and superb restaurants; Borough Market is perhaps the most well-known, though Maltby Street also has a brilliant selection of organic artisans and even an outpost for St John’s famous doughnuts. Bermondsey Street, with its excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, is a 10-minute walk away.

    There are lots of brilliant places to pick up coffee and pastries close to the apartment, including the Crol and Co, which is only a five-minute walk away, Watchhouse and award-winning Chapter 72.

    There are several art galleries close by including The Drawing Room, located at the end of the street, and the White Cube’s Bermondsey Gallery, a 13-minute walk away. The green spaces of Bermondsey Spa Gardens, Burgess Park and Southwark Park are also nearby.

    Bermondsey Station is a 15-minute walk away and runs Jubilee Line services. London Bridge Station is around a 20-minute walk for Northern and Jubilee Lines and National Rail services nationwide. The City is a 30-minute walk across London or Tower Bridge.
