Opportunity to purchase a piece of post war British history
Built in the 1950s post War Britain
Description
An exciting opportunity to purchase a piece of post war British history located in the South Hams on the outskirts of the countryside village of Ugborough. The site consists of a rectangular area of land being approximately 0.12 acres (440 square metres) of which the bunker itself lies to one side. The site is no longer fenced but has been fenced in the past with concrete post and wire link fence, only one section remains standing. Access is via foot over a right of way along the field hedge line.
The roc Cold War Bunker is approximately 11.4 square meters internally with a shaft access and closet for chemical toilet.
On last inspection, the bunker itself has some water ingress and damage to the lid. The bunker contains cupboards, shelf, bunkbed and various other items.
Situation
The site is located on top of the hill overlooking Ugborough village. The site is in a field and has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Ugborough is a charming old South Hams village set in beautiful countryside, mentioned in the Domesday Book, with a long history dating back to Saxon times. Today, there is a primary school, 2 restaurant/pubs and the 12th century church flanks one end of the large village square, where the annual fair is still held. For more comprehensive shopping, there is Ivybridge to the west, Modbury to the south, and Plymouth is within easy commuting distance via the A379 or A38.
Agents note
Given the unique nature of this lot, prospective purchasers must exercise extreme caution when viewing and view the property entirely at their own risk. Viewings strictly by appointment through Luscombe Maye in Modbury.
