Why Eastbourne is a good place to live

Situated on the South Coast of England, Eastbourne boasts a beautiful seaside location with stunning beaches and a picturesque coastline.

What's Eastbourne famous for?

Eastbourne is home to the Europe’s largest man-made marina, the Sovereign Harbour, which has a variety of restaurants, shops and attractions.

And its famous beach is a great place to take a dip: the sea water in Eastbourne is rated as “Excellent”, by the MCS Good Beach Guide.

Interesting fact: Eastbourne was the most bombed seaside town in England during WWII. Using Beachy Head as their landmark, bombers used to drop left over bombs over Eastbourne before they returned to Germany. Nearly 4,000 bombs fell on the town.

Things to do in Eastbourne

Enjoy an afternoon on Eastbourne pier where you can soak up the views, play in the arcades and enjoy a fish and chip supper.

Take a tour of Seven Sisters and the Birling Gap for a good old hike, or hire electric bikes for a more relaxing adventure.

Visit the beautiful South Downs National Park, right on Eastbourne's doorstep - several days can be spent exploring this stunner of a landscape.

Take a stroll along Eastbourne beach, it stretches for four miles from Sovereign Harbour to Beachy Head.

And long the way be sure to check out some of Eastbourne’s top attractions. You’ll see beautiful Victorian buildings, Eastbourne Pier, the iconic bandstand, Wish Tower, the Italian gardens and some lovely beach cafes.

Foodie fans are well catered for in the seaside town too. From the stunning views of the seafront Bistrot Pierre to five star dining at the Mirabelle, there are some top notch eateries.

Perch Princes Park is a lovely spot for brunch, while the award-winning La Locanda Del Duca is an Italian not to be missed. The gr/eat Greek Cuisine restaurant is the place to go for souvlaki and moussaka fans and Tuk Tuk is a tapas style Indian street food cafe that's well worth enjoying.
