Your guide to moving to Norwich

Why Norwich is a good place to live

Voted one of the best places to live by the Sunday Times three years in a row, the historic city of Norwich in the heart of East Anglia offers a unique blend of old-world charm with a cosmopolitan vibe.

Known for its stunning medieval architecture, including the awe-inspiring Norwich Cathedral and Norwich Castle, Norwich is also a bustling cultural hub, with a thriving arts scene, numerous theaters and a lively music and nightlife culture.

The University of East Anglia brings a youthful energy to the city, while its excellent schools and abundance of green spaces make it an attractive place to raise a family.

What is Norwich famous for?

Aha! Of course, Norwich's most famous resident is the illustrious Alan Partridge. But it's also the home of Delia Smith and her beloved Norwich City FC, along with Hugh Jackman's mum (who knew!).

Foodies will love that Coleman's mustard and Cromer Crabs both hail from here, as do - wait for it - postcodes. Postcodes were first trialed here in 1959. Today there are 1.8 million in the UK.

The Norfolk Broads, featuring 25% of UK’s rarest wildlife, have existed across Norfolk and Suffolk since the middle ages - and were actually created by accident. Excavated for peat in Medieval times, which was sold as fuel, the pits were flooded - causing the beauty that exists today. Now, it’s the 3rd largest navigable waterway extending a whopping 125 miles.
