By 1764, the nuns contributions were honored when they were summoned to serve under the Evèque of Carpentras (the bishop). Despite evolving into a hospital, the convent retained its tradition of welcoming travelers until 1922. During World War II, it became a sanctuary for members of the resistance movement, further embedding its legacy in history. Today, Le Vieil Hopital comprises three distinct apartments complemented by a music studio space, an artist s workshop, and an art gallery, boasting an expansive total interior space of over 700m2. The ground floor also contains an old chapelle and extensive vaulted cellars. Each apartment features private terraces and gardens, offering a total of around 250m2 of serene outdoor retreats amidst the picturesque surroundings of Provence.
